Job description:

Gencor is seeking an experienced Machinist for in-house specialty parts build. Candidate will set-up and operate a vertical mill and a variety of machines to produce precision parts. Job requires someone with a working knowledge of CNC-controlled machines.

Responsibilities:

• Review drawings to understand specifications of output
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
• Take precision measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a machinist
• Experience with G & M code
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Good at math with analytical abilities
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift objects up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally handle weights up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access different areas.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and maintain balance on uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Needs to use hands for tasks like operating tools and equipment, using computers, and handling paperwork.
• Frequently exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and potentially noisy or hazardous environments with chemicals or moving parts.
