Job Requirements:

Gencor is seeking experienced Industrial/Commercial Painters to join our team. This position is not suitable for residential painters.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience mixing paints, enamels, and lacquers to achieve specified colors, consistencies, and viscosities for both spraying and brushing applications. This role involves preparing surfaces and applying a variety of coatings to produce high-quality finishes on large equipment and components. Experience with HVLP spray systems is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mix paints, enamels, and lacquers to the required specifications
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, masking, cleaning, and applying fillers (e.g., Bondo)
• Apply coatings using air-assisted and airless spray systems
• Paint industrial equipment, including the application of decals
• Ensure high-quality finishes that meet company standards

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial painting experience (required)
• Experience using HVLP spray systems
• Ability to spray paint using air-assisted and airless pressure pumps
• Strong surface preparation skills (sanding, masking, cleaning, filling)
• Experience applying decals to industrial equipment
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
• Experience in painting industrial parts and applying decals is highly desired

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift objects 25-50 pounds and occasionally handle weights up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access different areas.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and maintain balance on uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Needs to use hands for tasks like operating tools and equipment, using computers, and handling paperwork.
• Frequently exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and potentially noisy or hazardous environments with chemicals or moving parts.
